Lauren & Michah's Shire in the Woods Wedding, McGrath Minnesota

A magical woodland retreat, Shire in the Woods, was the perfect location for Lauren & Micah's "camping themed" wedding day. Located in the countryside of McGrath, Minnesota, about two hours from Minneapolis. This couple has such a great story- and they tell it amazingly well (and in true Lauren & Micah form). So, we're borrowing (okay, maybe stealing) their words to share with you.

"The stage is set.

Lauren moves from Dallas to Austin. Years later, Micah moves from Minnesota.

Facebook.

Micah begins working at Facebook. Two months later, so does Lauren. We learn we both like dogs and whiskey, and enjoy a respectful working relationship.

First hike.

On a work trip, we hike Camelback Mountain near Scottsdale, AZ together in the morning. It turns out we both like hiking and we’re even cooler to hang out with when we’re not at work.

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco.

Weeks later on another work trip, we go on our first run together, 5 miles across the Golden Gate Bridge and back. The first of many to come.

First date in Fredericksburg.

Our first date together is a fateful trip to hike around Enchanted Rock with Scout. Scout is bit by a rattlesnake. We go into action mode to save Scout. We learn what each other is made of when times get tough, and how well we work together.

Trip to Grand Canyon & Zion Canyon.

First vacation together, and the first of many travels as a couple. Whether it’s at home or out adventuring, it’s better together.

Engagement on Enchanted Rock.

On November 5, 2016, we returned to Enchanted Rock to finish that original hike. This time instead of snakes on the trail, we find an accordionist and guitarist playing a song from the first record we listened to as a couple. Micah proposes, Lauren says yes, and Scout can’t wait to be a family! "

As for the wedding day- the photos speak for themselves. Everything about this quirky couple is perfection and we loved every minute of the day. From Lauren's adorable tea-length lace wedding dress to Micah's plaid shirt. To the carefree, lovable ceremony vows, to their furry companion, Scout. To the fantastic combination of succulents & billy balls, every single detail was tailored to the couple's personality.

We're so thankful to have clients like Lauren & Micah. They really allow their love to shine and take center stage on the wedding day- which is what it is ALL about.
