Molly + Steve's Solar Arts Wedding
Cohesive, cozy, engaging, and warm were the adjectives Molly and Steve quickly jotted down when we asked them to describe the feelings they wanted their upcoming wedding to evoke. And, it’s safe to say their celebration was a beautiful combination of all four! They celebrated their ceremony at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, followed by a reception at The Solar Arts Building in downtown Minneapolis. The mixture between the classic architecture of their church and the modern feel of their reception space was so perfectly them.
Prior to walking down the aisle, we caught our first glimpse of Molly in her wedding dress while she was getting ready. It’s safe to say she looked fabulous! Her off the shoulder wedding gown perfectly embodied her classic, timeless style, and the train was jaw-dropping. Plus, Molly wore burgundy velvet heals, and we think it’s safe to say we will dream of her shoes for months on end. Simply put, Molly looked gorgeous.
She and Steve also wanted their guests to feel encouraged to wear formal attire, so the gents dressed in classic black tuxedos and the ladies wore varied navy bridesmaids’ dresses. Molly had dreamed of carrying a tightly formed ivory bridal bouquet, so that’s what Sadie’s Couture Floral & Event Styling designed. We loved how the bridesmaids’ bouquets and boutonnieres mirrored Molly’s floral piece.
After she had processed down the aisle and they recessed back up together, Molly and Steve explored downtown Minneapolis during their couple’s portrait session before joining their guests at The Solar Arts Building. Inside their reception space, clusters of greenery and Edison bulbs hung from the ceiling, and the details were paired with ivory draping by Linen Effects – one of Molly’s must-haves. The space felt modern yet intimate, elegant yet cozy, and it looked like the perfect representation of Molly and Steve’s vision. Their vision also included a delicious menu, which Chowgirls achieved. M+S had also hoped guests would spend plenty of time on the dance floor, thanks to Bluewater Kings Band, and they did!
Between the aesthetics and the wonderful personalities of Molly, Steve, their families, and their wedding party, we cannot think of a better group to have surrounded this lovely pair on their wedding day. Amanda Nippoldt Photography captured every moment perfectly!
