Karen + Mitch's Solar Arts Wedding
At once a brewery complete with tours, an event space, and a studio for artists, The Solar Arts Building in downtown Minneapolis is one of the most unique spaces in the city. It merges modern, bohemian, and industrial styles together in a way that feels effortless and unpretentious – the perfect combination for Karen and Mitch’s mid-summer wedding day.
Karen and Mitch chose to celebrate both their ceremony and reception at The Solar Arts Building. And, honestly, how could they not? The space easily transforms during cocktail hour, and the exposed brick walls act like ambiance and art on their own. Prior to walking down the aisle, K+M shared their first look and photos with family in front of the walls that would later act as backdrops for their celebration, and it was such a perfect choice!
The couple opted to fill their color palette with shades of peach, blush, and burgundy, and it was a beautiful decision. The flowers designed by Bachman’s matched perfectly, and the addition of greens to details, like the welcome sign, looked wonderful throughout the interior spaces. Plus, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention the fantastic hexagon wedding arch, complete with on-palette flowers and ivory draping, that added to the ceremony design.
Post vows, the couple made sure to capture photos with their photographers, Nick and Sophie from Poiema, outside near the railroad tracks, which added to their cool aesthetic. Inside, guests enjoyed cocktail hour before everyone was welcomed back into the space once again for the reception. Chowgirls Killer Catering provided a delicious menu, guests sipped on beers local to the area, everyone enjoyed ice cream, and there was plenty of dancing under string lights!
From the moment their day began, we knew Karen and Mitch’s celebration was going to be something special. As we packed up their brewery themed guest book at the end of the night, we realized it was. Thank you to Poiema for capturing so many wonderful moments!
