Kelly + Tim's Wedding at JX Event Center
The days just before fall officially begins in Minneapolis are always some of our favorites. The weather is still lovely, and there is a complete bounty of colors from which to choose for wedding color palettes. And, we were delighted when Kelly and Tim embraced everything about this season in Minnesota for their wedding day at JX Event Center!
K+T each opted to prep for their celebration onsite. He spent the morning with his groomsmen, while she and her bridesmaids relaxed, sipped cocktails, and enjoyed hair by Switch and makeup by Warpaint International. We always look forward to the moment when the bride slips into her wedding dress because it’s the most she (and her friends and family!) sees herself fully as a bride for the first time. Kelly’s first moments in her dress were so sweet, especially as she greeted family and friends.
Just before their ceremony, Kelly and Tim saw each other for the first time in the courtyard of JX Event Center. We loved the brick walls of this space and how they provided the perfect backdrop filled with color and a hint of leaves for some of their portraits. Just after, they rejoined their wedding party for more portraits around town, and we were thrilled when they popped by modern and urban spaces. We always encourage couples to embrace their wedding style when choosing portrait locations, and Kelly and Tim definitely did!
Guests gathered upstairs at JX Event Center to witness Kelly’s walk down the aisle. Foliage and flowers in shades of burgundy, purple, mauve, red, and ivory by Kindred Blooms served as their ceremony backdrop, and the color palette matched the exposed brick of the space beautifully. After reciting their vows, exchanging their rings, and celebrating their first moments as an official Mr. and Mrs., K+T recessed back down the aisle and rejoined their guests during cocktail hour.
While guests mingled and sipped cocktails, the ceremony space was transformed into the reception space. Round and rectangle tables were mixed together to add interest to the design, and we especially love how the texture of the farmhouse tables added to the rustic meets industrial feel of the space. Tables were outfitted with chargers complete with gold details, high or low centerpieces that again featured organic arrangements of burgundy, red, mauve, purple, and ivory flowers by Kindred Blooms, and linens in deep hues.
In between enjoying a menu provided by Lake Elmo Inn, Kelly and Tim shared their first dance together, followed by dances with their parents and family. These dances are always some of the most enjoyable to watch because they make guests eager to jump onto the dance floor themselves! A decadent dessert table was filled to the brim with cake and cupcakes by Cocoa and Fig, which everyone made sure to partake in before Kelly and Tim’s wedding day officially came to a close.
We loved planning with Kelly and Tim, and we also are always grateful to work with such an excellent team of wedding professionals! Thank you to Brandon Werth Photography for sharing these photos!
