Modern Matrimony, as seen in Dainty Obsessions

This beautiful modern wedding inspiration editorial shoot was featured in the last issue of Dainty Obsessions (Fall/Winter), and we're finally getting around to sharing it here on our blog! We LOVED this shoot so much! Not only was the venue perfection, but the color palette was fantastic! Creating the design was super fun. We mixed so many unique textures and elements to create something really contemporary, modern and vibrant.  There is a misconception that modern sometimes means devoid of color, but that couldn't be less true in our experience!

First, let's talk about the florals. Oh. My.Goodness!  First, this bouquet was incredibly unique. The variety in color & texture gave the garden style bouquet incredible dimension, and it was oh so swoon worthy. Any bouquet that includes peonies or orchids tends to make us fall in love but paired with thistle, greenery, hyacinth and scabiosa; it was over the top amazing.

Second, let's talk about the attire!  The two ballgown style wedding gowns were so lovely. The addition of the gold sash to the one shoulder silk, ivory gown was stunning.  And dress number two in black had us awestruck. The exquisite texture and modernized sweetheart neckline were striking.   For the groom, a modern navy blue suit paired beautifully with the ivory gown (and loved the floral patterned bowtie for a fun twist). And a tie-less black tux was an on-point pairing for the black gown.

Third, let's talk about the yarn! What a FUN design element to incorporate. We had a custom yard backdrop created for the ceremony, as well as a multi-color yarn chandelier to hang over the guest table. It was as far from traditional as you could get and added whimsy to the overall design.

Last, we can't leave without noting the super cool copper chairs, acrylic menu cards, and funky patterned linen runner. Although each element was a slightly eclectic choice individually, it tied together more beautifully that we initially anticipated! And, we can't forget to mention that our ever faithful, and adorable, mascot, Mila only added to the awesomeness of the shoot. We love her so!

Which element is your favorite? We'd love to hear your thoughts. Leave us a comment!
