There is something about a slight hint of warmth in the air, blossoming trees, the freshness of a new season moving in that makes us feel happy. That spring in our step and joy we feel for the Spring season was the inspiration for the decor/design for The Knot Pro Minneapolis mixer we recently planned. Bold, cheerful, colorful hues married with soft romance and industrial chic whimsy. It was a lot to pack into one design, but it worked!
The color palette really set the tone for all of the incredible details. From the incredible florals to the gorgeous linens, and the divine desserts, everything coordinated beautifully! The linens were remarkable alone, as were the florals. Paired, they were stunning! The menu was delicious from start to finish!
Because spring is synonymous with floral, it was the basis for most of the design. And not just flowers, but in the paper goods to the linen choice, we found a way to incorporate spring flowers in almost every single detail.
We had two separate spaces to design within the venue – Studio C Floral helped us with Sawyer’s Room, while St. Cloud Floral handled Dylan’s Room.
For the main space, Sawyer’s Room, we selected bold linens as one of our main anchor elements. We wanted something with a lot of wow factor- so it was all about a trio of color that could be tied together within a pattern, but also a texture. We opted for a bold floral print on high tops interspersed with a bright yellow. And then a petal texture linen in a soft blush pink and bold fuchsia.
The florals were out of this world! In the wedding world, most of us know that Peonies only come around (in all of their full glory) late in the Spring season. So we knew we needed this lush bloom within the centerpieces. But it was better than our wildest dreams to see the actual designs!
There were so many gorgeous pieces created – the variety in blooms, as well as the texture, was awe-inspiring. From the tall greenery with hanging votives to the exquisite (and massive) pastel pieces. It was cheerful, yet romantic. Elegant, yet cozy. It was everything we love about Spring!
Dylan’s room was a bit more of a marriage between Whimsy + Kate Spade- but still inspired by Spring, albeit a slightly more tropical one than are blessed to see in Mpls.
Centerpieces were more restrained but still really beautiful & exotic. With unique floral choices like sunset protea, lady’s slipper orchids and parrot tulips, they made a big statement.
Our vendor team was amazing. Everyone was so great to work with and we are so grateful for them. Bringing a vision to life is hard work for our couples. But when it’s fellow industry pros, the pressure is ON! Everyone handled it beautifully and really went above and beyond.
